Made for generations.
Remembered in every step.
Before NattyFeet was an online store, it belonged to the slower rhythm of the old footwear trade: familiar customers, careful fittings, and pairs made to return to.
Before NattyFeet was an online store, it belonged to the slower rhythm of the old footwear trade: familiar customers, careful fittings, and pairs made to return to.
It began across a counter, with shoes lifted from their boxes and turned in the light. A customer would tell us where she was going. We would listen, measure, and bring out the pair we believed would carry her there.
Over the years, faces changed and fashions moved on. The work stayed close to the same things: proportion, finish, fit, and the quiet trust that brings someone back.
A good shoe must honour the occasion and the person wearing it.
That belief travelled from the old counter into every pattern, fitting, and collection that followed.
Our way of making has never stood still. It has been edited over time: an old proportion softened, a familiar curve made easier, a festive detail given more room to breathe.
Begin with what has endured
Balanced shapes, gentle lines, and the proportions that have served Indian feet and wardrobes well.
Adjust for the present
Softer cushioning, flexible construction, and easier fits let an old sensibility live comfortably now.
Keep the hand in the finish
Embroidery and surface details are still placed in small batches, where judgement matters as much as precision.
One era gave NattyFeet its eye for occasion. Another made the shapes lighter. The present has brought new materials, closer conversations, and women who style tradition entirely their own way.
Heritage, to us, is not keeping everything unchanged. It is knowing what deserves to be carried forward.
